I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Kim since 2001. We have 3 boys – Marty Jr., Aidyn, and Timothy.

In a past life, I was a dental lab technician with 15 years of experience. My specialty was removable full and partial dentures, though I dabbled with crown and bridge for a year and metal frameworks for 3 years. I’ve been doing web development since 2004 as a hobbyist. In 2014 I picked up Java and Android development and started really working on transitioning careers. In February 2015, I successfully switched careers and am now a web and Android app developer.

I have also served in a variety of other positions and picked up a lot of other skills over the years. At our church, I was an assistant pastor for 5 years and the executive pastor for 2 years. I served on the council, as the treasurer, and as an A/V tech.

My dad started me on computers when I was 3 years old, so a love of technology is practically ingrained in me, although I love simplicity too. Getting away from everything and back to nature (hiking, camping, etc.) does wonders.

I’m a lifelong gamer. My parents got me a NES when I was 5 years old. To this day, my favorite games are still old NES and SNES games, especially RPGs. My childhood dream was to be a programmer – specifically a game developer. That’s next on my list of things to learn. I also love tabletop gaming, especially D&D (2e and 3.5e are the best) where I can use that as a creative outlet for creating worlds and storytelling. I’m fond of other card and board games as well.

This site started as another creative outlet where I could blog about whatever was on my mind at the time. That’s still true, though I’ve expanded it to be a programming sandbox and my business site too. There may be an Easter egg or two hiding on the site somewhere.
